About us

fun | friendly | free-flow

Since 1966 we have been based in the village hall, a very bright and spacious facility where all activities are refreshed daily.

We have access to two secure outdoor spaces which are solely for the use of Pre-School, including mud kitchen, water play, bikes and scooters and a play house. The nature area provides a quieter space where we grow our own fruit and vegetables.

We provide a safe and friendly learning environment for your child to enjoy their pre-school years, learning through play and new experiences whilst having fun. We support your child to be a happy, confident individual, prepared for their next chapter.

Operating a free-flow setting, with highly qualified and experienced staff, is key to our philosophy; enabling our children to move between different learning environments independently. We are able to achieve this by ensuring extremely high staff to child ratios that are significantly higher than those required by OFSTED.

We are a registered charity managed by a voluntary committee of enthusiastic individuals who are elected annually.

Being a non-profit organisation means that we can focus on providing the highest quality experience for your child, with unrivalled staff ratios and space to play.

All fundraising proceeds go directly to improve equipment and resources for the pre-school. Our successful calendar of fundraising events also serves the wider community.

Pre-School Curriculum Goals

At Partridge Green Pre-School we support children’s development through a series of “stepping stones”, which show how skills typically grow over time during the early years.

These stepping stones help practitioners plan activities, observe progress and support each child’s individual learning journey. The goals cover the key areas of development that underpin the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including communication, social and emotional development, physical skills, early literacy and maths, understanding the world, and creative expression. Children move through these stages at their own pace, supported by their key person and the wider pre-school team. The document below outlines the progression of learning from settling into pre-school and building relationships, through to becoming confident communicators, curious learners and independent thinkers ready for the next stage of their education.

Parents and carers can use this guide to understand the kinds of skills and experiences children may develop during their time at pre-school.
